What makes ‘Bosch’ the best
Before we begin, we can’t help but feel the need to explain to you, albeit a bit briefly, on why Bosch products are the best. Here we go:
Fast and Powerful
Bosch oscillating tools are known for how the products are. Many of the tools made by this brand tend to get the job done and are solid in its build. For instance, one of the tests performed on the different brand of oscillating tools was “Which of the blades can cut the most nail before letting up?” Surprise, Bosch emerged victoriously. Don’t take my word for it, go through and read about it.
Great and useful features
Many of the products made by Bosch tend to come with some pretty useful features. Just to give an example, the Bosch MX25E comes with a gentle, soft start feature. This feature makes the tool start slow thus allowing you to maintain control. Bosch oscillating tool especially well for beginners or those working at awkward angles/positions.
Bosch GOP40-30C Starlock Plus Oscillating Multi-Tool Kit
This tool doesn’t get it wrong; we have to say Bosch made a lot of improvements with this tool. We appreciated the snap-in blade attachment feature. We found it pretty easy to attach and detach blades.
There were no needs for any tools/wrenches; it was as easy as pulling a lever. With that said, the power of this tool is also great, 4.0 amps. The oscillating tool sets itself apart.
Bosch added a unique feature on Bosch GOP40-30C, 20,000 oscillations per minute made it special, and 3-degree oscillating arc ensures that it works faster and more precise. Great news as the slow start feature is still ever present even with this model.
New Starlock Plus 3D Interface
New Starlock Plus 3D Interface is a break from the standard OIS interface and allows for more torque transfer as well as a better grip. It’s part of Bosch’s trend of innovation in the industry.
Of course, being an oscillating tool, it does offer versatility, but this is taken to a whole new level. Mostly due to the power of the motor and the oscillating arc of the device. Versatility ensures that being precise and quick is possible.
Snap-In Tool feature
Snap-In tool feature to be the winning feature for this product. This feature allows you to snap in the accessory you wish to use without the use of any tools. You can also detach the accessory via the use of a release lever. DIYers and contractors will understand when we say no more burnt fingers.
- Slow start feature for better control
- Snap in feature makes it easy to attach and detach tools
- It has a powerful motor
- The availability of the blades is a bit tough, and it’s not compatible with old OIS blades
Bosch GOP40-30B Starlock Plus with Snap-In Blade Attachment
Our second tool on the list is just a sister tool to the previously mentioned Bosch GOP40-30 C. Users of this tool will quickly notice that there isn’t much difference between the two. They are both parts of Bosch’s GOP40-30 line, thus share many of the features.
What you’ll particularly like and what we liked as well is the snap-in blade feature. This is mostly due to the new Starlock plus interface that the company uses. This makes it easy for you to attach and detach tools without the need for other tools such as wrenches and the like.
- It has a powerful motor and a 3-degree oscillating arc
The 4.0-amp motor on the tool ensures that you get more power while you work. This is made even better by the Starlock plus system that ensures high torque transfer. This coupled with the 3-degree oscillating arc ensures that you do your work faster and with more precision.
- It supports all Starlock accessories
We can’t say that the tool is dynamic as it doesn’t have support for many old OIS blades. On that note, it does support all of the Starlock and Starlock plus accessories (although they are hard to find in some states). As said previously, the two devices are similar, so they share many of the features.
- The tool is light despite its powerful motor
- It has a great grip with less vibration than previous models
- Its versatility allows for it to use in different projects
- It also suffers from a lack of compatibility as far as the blades are concerned.
Bosch MX30EC-31 Multi-X 3.0 Amp Oscillating tool
You’ll find this tool pretty useful for many of your DIY projects as we have. Let us start by talking about the grip on this device, which is great. You’ll notice how easy the switch is to use and the many soft grip areas available as well. It’s important to point out that the vibration of the tool is almost negligible, thus helping with the handling of the tool.
A bit of trivia is that this was the first oscillating tool from Bosch to incorporate the tool-less accessory change lever. Another thing that we also appreciated is the long cord. The cord is pretty long and allows for a bit more flexibility in movement.
We found it easy to use the tool on our woodworking project. This is mostly due to the variable speed dial that allowed us to adjust the speed of the blade thus making it easier to handle and be precise. For the beginners, it’s important to know that you can’t adjust the speed to your liking. The good news is that there are different levels of adjustments to choose.
- It’s high Powered
At 3.0 amp, the motor in this tool is pretty powerful. Although, not as powerful as the other two on this list. It can still hold its own and allow for heavier projects.
- It offers durable tool-less accessory change
There is a lever that you can use to attach or reposition the OIS accessories on the device. You don’t need an Allen wrench anymore.
- A longer cord allows for more movement when working
- It’s of great quality
- It offers a comfortable grip
- There isn’t much to complain about when it comes to this particular tool. The blades could probably have been made better but considering the price point. It’s an awesome buy.
Bosch Bare-Tool MXH180BL 18-Volt Brushless L-Boxx-2 and Exact-Fit Insert Tray
The last on our list is the only cordless type oscillating tool from Bosch. They described it as “delivering corded performance without the cord.” After we had got to use the device, we noticed the power it offers despite being a cordless tool.
This is probably due to the core EC brushless motor attached to it. On top of that, it also still maintains the tool-less accessory change lever that allows for quick changing of tools.
- A reinforced gear and Metal Housing
Reinforced gear ensures less vibration on the device as you use it. On top, if that, it increases the durability of the tool and ensures optimal force transmission.
- Equipped with a core EC brushless motor
Probably the part that should take credit for its “corded performance without a cord.” The motor ensures that the tool is fast and powerful as well.
- We noticed that it maintains the chosen speed even under extreme use
- It’s powerful for a cordless tool
- Being a cordless tool, it does suffer from some of its drawbacks such as the runtime not being up to scratch.
When you’re buying a Bosch Oscillating tool, you’re getting quality for your money. The tools are durable, efficient and come with many handy features that you’ll appreciate. Hopefully, this Bosch oscillating tool review has helped inform you a bit more about the tool and which one works best for you.
